1. Performance and use:

Properties: It is an excellent raw material for nitrogen fertilizer (commonly known as fertilizer powder). The pure product is colorless rhombic crystals. The industrial product of ammonium sulfate is white to light yellow crystals. The aqueous solution of ammonium sulfate is acidic and insoluble in alcohol, acetone and ammonia. It is hygroscopic and solidifies into blocks after absorbing moisture. It is completely decomposed into ammonia, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide and water when heated to above 513°C. It releases ammonia when reacting with alkalis and reacts with barium chloride solution to form barium sulfate precipitation. Ammonium sulfate has many biological uses and is mostly used in protein purification processes. Because ammonium sulfate is an inert substance, it is not easy to react with other biologically active substances and can protect protein activity to a large extent during the purification process. In addition, ammonium sulfate has good solubility and can form a high-salt environment, which prepares for protein precipitation and subsequent high-salt purification.

Uses: 90% is used as fertilizer, suitable for various soils and crops, can make branches and leaves grow vigorously, improve fruit quality and yield, enhance the resistance of crops to disasters, and can be used as base fertilizer, topdressing and seed fertilizer. It can also be used in rare earth, textile, leather, medicine, etc. Fertilizer companies use the raw material ammonium sulfate to produce extruded granules, water-soluble fertilizers, and flush fertilizers.
